Review
AVIMerIn is a neat and simple piece of software to help you join fragmented AVI files into a larger one. It also includes re-encoding functionality, allowing you to save the resulting merged file into MPEG4, XviD, or DivX. Its interface is completely self-explanatory, and allows you to sort your selected files easily just by dragging and dropping them in the order of your choice.
In order to work properly, AVIMerIn will analyze all of the AVI fragments selected before merging them. They need to share exactly the same parameters in order to be effectively merged by the program - otherwise they will be rejected. Therefore, it is recommended for merging fragments that either were previously part of the same large file, or that were encoded with the same tool and exactly the same conversion profile.
When saving the output AVI file you will be able to leave it untouched, or to make use of the conversion functionality included in the program, which allows you to save your merged videos also as MPEG4 files. If you prefer, you can also compress the audio of the original AVI files into MP3. |
- Simple functionality in an extremely easy-to-use interface.
|
- Lack of flexibility when appending AVI files which do not share the same exact specifications.
